Driving Theory test

Driving Theory Tests in the Falkland Islands

All learner drivers in the Falkland Islands are required to sit and pass the Falkland Islands Driving Theory Test before taking their practical driving examination. Please note that UK Driving Theory Test certificates are not accepted. Anyone wishing to take a driving test locally must therefore complete the theory examination through Falkland College.  On completion the certificate is valid for two years.  We have two types of theory test, one for motorcycles and one for all other vehicles.

To book your Driving Theory test

Driving Theory Tests are administered by Falkland College. Please contact us to arrange your test date,  the examinations are usually held on Thursday mornings, but we can offer other times for people coming into Stanley from Camp. Please complete the form above and return to exams@college.ac.fk  or phone 27133 and ask for extension 2405.

Payment is required before the examination can be sat.

About the Theory test

The Falkland Islands Driving Theory Test is based on the UK Highway Code and consists of:

  • 50 multiple-choice questions

  • The pass mark is 80%

  • We only offer the examination in English.  We can offer you a reader for the exam.

The test assesses your understanding of road signs, safe driving practices, and legal responsibilities as a road user.
