About Us
Falkland College has grown from its beginnings within the Falkland Islands Government’s Human Resources Department, where it first delivered training for government staff. Established as the Training Center in the early 2000s, it has since developed into an organisation providing a wide range of courses, training and services for the Falkland Islands community.
Today, the College offers a wide range of programmes, including NVQs and Diplomas (Levels 1–5), GCSEs, A Levels, and an extensive selection of short courses such as First Aid, Customer Service, and Conflict Management. As an accredited City & Guilds and Highfield Centre, we can offer RQF recognised qualifications. Falkland College is also a registered examination centre, hosting examinations for ATT, ACCA, Marlin, Pearson VUE, several universities, and all school-level assessments. We are also a remote examination site for Resource Group, allowing us to offer CAA examinations in the Falkland Islands.
We deliver all driving theory tests and Plant Operators Certification (POC Cards), supported by a skilled team of casual Driving Examiners and assessors. Falkland College also incorporates The Christie Library, which provides library services to students and the wider community.
Our Careers Guidance team works across all schools, helping young people explore career pathways, further education options, and opportunities aligned with local skills needs. We also support adults returning to work or considering a career change.
The College runs a successful Apprenticeship Scheme across a range of trades and specialist disciplines, and manages the Shield Programme, which supports individuals with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities in accessing employment and meaningful work. Additional programmes deliver English language testing for PRP applicants, workforce re-entry support, and assistance for those unable to sustain full-time employment.
Falkland College is committed to lifelong learning, community development, and widening opportunities for people across the Falkland Islands.
